The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Might Not Be Much of an Upgrade

Samsung Galaxy phones have always been a curiosity before their launch. They have been the most exciting handsets of the year but, this might not be the case with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is a work in progress and the series has recently appeared on websites certifying its making too. Information from some leaks suggest that spotting the difference between the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is quite difficult.

This information has been gained from unofficial renders shared by a leaker with a great track record, @OnLeaks, on behalf of SmartPrix. According to the leak, the screen of 6.8 inches will be the same. However, there are some slight unnoticeable changes in the new handset like the dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will be 163.4 × 78.1 × 8.8mm while that of the S22 Ultra was 163.3 × 77.9 × 8.9mm. The handset will come with a circa 6 8 inch display which is the same as that of the S22 Ultra. Further, the Galaxy will have the slimmest bezel ever seen in the S series phones so far.

Other changes include those in the screen which will apparently have some improvements, like it will be brighter and will offer better colour accuracy and HDR performance.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is going to have thin bezels all-around with a punch-hole at the top middle for placing the front camera in order to use it for clicking selfies and attending video calls.

Further, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is more likely to have a less curvy side and have two smallest sensors on the camera being flushed with the rear. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, these sensors stuck out a bit.

These leaks have a high chance of being accurate and with this note, it can be concluded that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra might barely change at all – at least visually.

ANALYSIS: UPGRADES UNDER THE HOOD

The good news is that though there won’t be much changes in the design, the specifications would have appreciable changes. The latest leak didn’t suggest much changes in the specifications. However, according to an earlier leak the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra might get a 200MP camera unlike the S22 Ultra which had a 108MP camera.

Also, the chipset will be updated to a newer and more powerful one – likely the Qualcomm  Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, so at the very least, the performance of the handset will be improved.

Through all the upgrades mentioned above, it can be concluded that the release of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra might not be the most exciting launch even if it is being claimed to be one of Samsung’s best phones because there aren’t much changes in it when compared to its predecessor, i.e., the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra handset.
